Punch Methods on the MK1000

The MK1000 time clock gives employees and managers several ways to record their time. Whether you prefer a quick fingerprint scan, an RFID badge, or a simple ID and password, the MK1000 makes it easy to punch in and out.

Users can also check their punches right at the clock. Just press [OK], then identify yourself using any enrolled punch method.

Important: Before setting up any punch method, you must first add the user to the clock. See: Add a New User to the MK1000.

Fingerprint Punch Method

For fast and secure access, the MK1000 supports biometric fingerprint scans. Fingerprints must be enrolled directly at the time clock.

To add a new finger scan, see: Add a Fingerprint on the MK1000.

To punch using a finger scan:

  • Place an enrolled finger on the sensor and remove quickly.
  • Alternatively, enter your User ID, press [OK], then scan your finger.

RFID Badge Punch Method

The MK1000 works with uPunch MK Series Compatible RFID Proximity Badges (available for purchase here). You can assign badges at the time clock or in the Excel spreadsheet.

To assign an RFID badge to a user, see: Assign an RFID Card for the MK1000.

To punch using an RFID badge:

  • Hold the proximity badge close to the clock, immediately below the fingerprint scanner near the Card icon.

ID and Password Punch Method

The MK1000 also supports punching with an ID and Password combination. Every user needs an IDs when added to the system, and passwords can be set either in the spreadsheet or at the clock.

To add a password, see: Add a User Password on the MK1000.

To punch with an ID and password:

  1. Enter your User ID and press [OK].
  2. When prompted, enter your password and press [OK].

The clock will display your name and ID number and say “Thank You!” if the punch is successful, or "Press Again!" if not.

Manager Access

Managers can use any punch methods registered before they were set to manager status to access the time clock menus. Any methods added after setting a User to Manager can only be used for punching.

To add an additional punch method with menu access for a manager, see: Additional Punch Methods for Managers on the MK1000
