MK5000 Users
This article will walk you through performing user management functions on your new MK5000 timeclock. You can use the links below to skip to a specific section of this article.

User
To access the User options:
- Touch the screen to prompt a menu bar to pop up on the right side.
- Click the settings gear >【User Mgt】.
- Click the tab for the desired menu option.
Enroll
- ID: Each user can only have a unique ‘ID’.
- Name: Input and edit name with the keypad.
- Face: Follow the on-screen prompt for face registration. Note: Please stand directly in front of the device, face the camera, and keep your entire face displayed in the frame to achieve consistent face recognition.
- Card: Select Reg.Card and put card on swipe area to register card.
- Password: An ID can only register one password. After clicking the password icon, enter the User ID, press ok, enter the password, then press ok to confirm the password.
To verify a password:
- Touch the face recognition area of the screen.
- Click the settings gear.
- Input the ID.
- Click ‘OK’.
- Input the password.
- Click ‘OK’.
User View
Browse all registered people on the device, click a user to edit their information, including name, password, department, privileges, and access control settings. You can also edit the face registration information or delete the user here. You can quickly locate the user you want to edit by using the【Find】 or 【Find Name】funtions at the top of the page.
Note: For【Privilege】, the options are:
- User: If there are Admin and Super.users in this device, users are not allowed to access the menu.
- Admin: The manager of this device. Only admins have permission to access the menu.
- Super.user: If there is an Admin in the device, a Super.user can be registered to perform select menu functions, such as registering users.
Department
Edit the department name using the keypad. Up to 14 departments can be supported.
Download enrollmsg
- Touch the screen to prompt a menu bar to pop up on the right side.
- Click the settings gear >【User Mgt】>【Download enrollmsg】.
- Insert the USB drive in the device to download the 3 files listed below:
- Note: It is extremely important that the file names are not modified, or the time clock will not recognize them when uploading shifts and users.
- User data file (AFP_001.dat): It can be used to synchronize users between devices, and ‘001’ represents device ID
- User’s enrolled photo (EnrollPhoto)
- User information Excel sheet (Staff): Users can be edited on a PC and then uploaded back to device, please refer to the picture below:
- Fill in personnel information according to the prompt on the form header. For the “Shift” item, use the editing shift number in the time attendance setting. When complete, click【Save】to save the edited file on the USB drive.
Upload enrollmsg
- After editing the shift form, touch the screen to prompt a menu bar to pop up on the right side.
- Click the settings gear >【User Mgt】.
- Insert the USB drive.
- Click【Upload enrollmsg】to transmit the edited user information to the device.
Note: For Lock Time zone, start time, and end time, refer to the Access section.

Configure the intended settings for the following enrollment options.
- RFID Free Registration (Yes/No)
- Swipe to register face (Yes/No)
- Face Duplicate Check (Yes/No)
- Register RFID (RFID 1, 2, and 3)
