MK5000 Access

This article will walk you through performing access management functions on your new MK5000 timeclock.  You can use the links below to skip to a specific section of this article. Access

To access the Access options:

  1. Touch the screen to prompt a pop up on the right side of the screen.
  2. Click the settings gear >【Access】.
  3. Click the tab across the top of the screen for the desired menu option.

Timezone settings

Day timezone

Configure the timezone settings to the schedule for your employees in and out times throughout the day.

You can set up 8 groups of day or week time zones.

For example: You can set the time between 6:00 am and 8:00 am to open the door, and set another time between 17:00 and 19:00 to open the door. Refer to the picture below of the Day Timezone 1 setting. If you want to set the door to be open in all day, refer to the picture below of the Day Timezone 2 setting.

Week timezone

Configure the timezone settings to the schedule for your employees in and out times throughout the week.

For example: According to the daily time zone rule above, the door can be opened between 6:00 am and 8:00 am, and then between 17:00 and 19:00 from Monday to Friday. The door can be opened all day on Saturday and Sunday.

Note: By default, the【Week Timezone 0】option opens the door all day. All other time zones are customizable.

Normal open timezone

Configure the timezone settings to the schedule for your employees in and out times throughout the week.

Example: If the setting is as (Figure 2) with Day time 1 applied to every day, the door is kept open between 6:00 am and 8:00 am and 17:00 to 19:00 every day.

Open Group

See the examples below that illustrate the options for configuring the group door access rules.

  • Example 1: A single group can open the door
  • Only users belonging to Group 1 have access to the door.
    • Open group 1    1
    • Open group 2    0
    • …
    • Open group 5    0
  • Example 2: Multiple users  from the same group must verify together to open the door
  • Requires 3 users belonging to Group 1 to verify together to access the door.
    • Open group 1    111
    • Open group 2    0
    • …
    • Open group 5    0
  • Example 3: Different users from different groups
  • Requires one user belonging to Group 1 and another one belonging to Group 2 to verify together to access the door. Users belonging to group 1 and users belonging to group 2 do not have the right to open the door independently. 
    • Open group 1    12
    • Open group 2    0
    • …
    • Open group 5    0

 

User Access Settings

To access the User Access options:

  1. Touch the screen to prompt a pop-up on the right side of the screen.
  2. Click the settings gear >【User Mgt】>【User View】> select users >【Advanced setup】.

Note: If the power supply for your access controller is insufficient, the device may shut down automatically when attempting to use the facial recognition feature. In this case, please wire according to the diagram below:
