Set Holidays for the MK3000
In the MK3000 time clock, holidays are set in the Shift Setup file and uploaded to the device. Holidays on the MK3000 are non-working days. These days are then recognized by the system and shown on reports.
Set Holidays for the MK3000
Step 1: Download the Setup Files from the Clock
- Plug the USB stick into the left side of the clock.
- Press [Menu].
- Select Shift and press [OK].
- Scroll down to select Download shift and press [OK].
- Press [ESC] repeatedly to exit or simply allow the menus to time out.
- Remove the USB stick from the clock.
Step 2: Update the File in Excel
- Plug the USB stick into your computer.
- The file directory should automatically open; if not, open the USB drive in File Explorer (Windows) or Finder (macOS).
- Double-click the 01SHIFT file. If it does not open automatically, launch Excel and open the file manually.
- Update the Holidays sheet as needed.
- Save the file.
⚠️Important: Do not rename the file. The time clock will not recognize modified file names.
Step 3: Upload the Setup Files to the Time Clock
- Eject and remove the USB stick from the PC.
- Plug the USB stick into the side of the clock.
- Press [Menu].
- Select Shift and press [OK].
- Select Upload Shift and press [OK].
Understanding the Holiday Sheet in the Shift Setup File
Holiday Names
Holiday names must be 48 characters or less. The name entered will appear on the Schedule report for the appropriate day.
Holiday Start and End Dates
Set the start and end date for each holiday in the format yyyy-mm-dd.
- For a one-day holiday, enter the same date for both Start and End.
- For a multi-day holiday, enter the first day of the holiday as the Start date and the last day as the End date.
