Original Record: Punch Report on the MK3000

Use the Original Record on the MK3000 to export all punch logs by employee for a selected date range. The Original Record Report shows employee punches exactly as they were recorded by the MK3000. It is the best report to use when you need to verify punch accuracy or troubleshoot missing or incorrect punches. This report is commonly used for audits, payroll verification, and reviewing raw punch data.

 

What the Original Record Shows

This report shows raw punch data for employees for the date range selected when downloading the report. Each section is organized by employee and includes their ID, name, department, and assigned shift.

Across the top, you’ll see each day in the date range. Under each day are the employee’s recorded punch times.

No rounding, totaling, or payroll calculations are applied in this report.

View the Original Record

Step 1: Download the Report

  1. Plug the flash drive into the side of the time clock.
  2. Press [Menu].
  3. Scroll down to Report, and press [OK].
  4. Set the Starting and Ending dates for the report data by using the arrows or keypad to change the values.
  5. Press [OK] to move to the next setting.
  6. When finished, press [OK].
  7. The time clock will prompt you to “Start report”, press [OK].
  8. Once the report has downloaded, press [ESC] repeatedly to exit the menus or simply allow the menus to time out.
  9. Remove the flash drive from the time clock.

 

Step 2: Open the Report in Excel

  1. Plug the flash drive into your computer.
  2. If a directory does not automatically open, use your file browser (Windows Explorer or Mac Finder) to navigate to the flash drive directory.
  3. Double-click the file 01Reports-YY-MM.XLS, where YY-MM is the Year and Month for the report.
  4. Excel should launch and open the file. If not, run Excel and open the report file from the flash drive directory.
  5. The Original Record is the first sheet of the file.
